Summer field is the capstone experience for the Geology degree and it would be a tragedy to let this current health and financial crisis – the worse of our lifetimes – prevent students from receiving the most unique and essential part of their undergraduate education, or from graduating in a timely manner.
As our students are struggling financially under uncertain conditions, please help them graduate by minimizing the expense of Summer Field. Your gift will go toward reducing their course fees and other expenses associated with the students' Summer Field training.
We are busy planning for multiple Summer Field scenarios during the pandemic, including delaying to winter or doing completely remote sensing-based fieldwork (like planetary geologists and marine geologists do) or a hybrid of fieldwork, satellite mapping, and then field checking.
