The Ella Fitzgerald Foundation is generously matching every $3 raised, for $1 (up to $5000)!
The award-winning, nationally renowned CSULB Vocal Jazz Program has garnered countless accolades, and is one of the top collegiate vocal jazz programs in the country! Our groups have performed at the most prestigious educational events and jazz festivals in the nation, and have been honored with DownBeat Magazine Student Music Awards for the past ten years in a row. The program continues to attract the best, brightest, and most talented students from across the globe to pursue their education here at CSULB.
This year we have been invited to perform at the Jazz Education Network Conference in New Orleans, the largest jazz conference in the world! We also have the great privilege of being invited to perform at the historic Monterey Jazz Festival. These are both tremendous honors and opportunities for our students.
WE NEED YOUR HELP!! Unfortunately, this program is severely underfunded, and we absolutely depend upon additional support to keep our program operating on the leading edge.
Here is a list of our current needs for the 2019-20 school year:
• Travel to Jazz Education Network Conference in New Orleans ($12,585) FUNDED!
• Travel to Monterey Jazz Festival ($8,630)
• PST debut CD release costs, licensing fees, etc ($2,500) FUNDED!
• Cuesta College Vocal Jazz Festival costs ($1,361)
• Oceanside Vocal Jazz Festival costs ($1,300)
• Recording costs for new CD project ($6,200)
• Commissions for Musical Arrangements ($1,750)
***We reached our $15,000 goal in 15 days and have plenty of time left to raise more! We have set a new goal of $25,000 to cover additional travel expenses, festival costs and a second CD recording. Help us fund our program, so our students can focus their energies on their craft and not worry about how they will afford these amazing opportunities.
We are reaching out to YOU, because we need your support. We are hoping to raise at least $15,000 this year for our Vocal Jazz Program.
