Long Beach State Athletics is committed to excellence in every aspect of the student-athlete experience. Not only will we be champions in the classroom and on the field, but we too will strive to answer the call from Dr. MLK of, “life's most persistent and urgent question… 'What are you doing for others?'"
The Experience
As the world continues to shrink, understanding different cultures and expanding the worldview of our student-athletes is a crucial part of their development and preparation for life after college. We are excited to offer our student-athletes the opportunity to travel to Panama and participate in a transformative service trip with the nonprofit organization, Courts for Kids. Student-athletes (team) will be traveling to a rural community an hour outside of Panama City. There, they will be fully immersed in the community, eating and working alongside community members to build a multi-use sport court that will provide a safe space for all members of the community to gather. This experience will position our student-athletes as world citizens who are committed to the betterment of society not only in California and strengthen their appreciation for service and grow as leaders. We need the support of our Long Beach State alumni family and friends to make this experience extraordinary.
