We know what it means to serve — to lead with purpose, to show up for each other, and to keep pushing forward no matter what. That mission doesn’t end when the uniform comes off.
At Cal State Long Beach, veterans like us bring that same courage, discipline, and heart into the classroom and the community. We make this campus stronger because we’ve already learned what it means to stand for something bigger than ourselves.
But we also know the reality, even the toughest among us can hit a wall. When the Post-9/11 GI Bill runs short or pauses over the summer, the gap can feel impossible. Some of us take extra jobs. Some delay classes. Some have to step away. Not because we’ve lost the will, but because the system wasn’t built for how we live and serve.
That’s why this campaign matters. It’s about veterans helping veterans, standing shoulder to shoulder to make sure no one falls behind.
Every dollar makes a difference, because when one of us stumbles, the rest of us reach out a hand. That’s who we are. That’s what service looks like, here at The Beach and beyond.
