Celebrating 40 Years of Career-Readiness through Mentoring at the College of Business

For four decades, the Student Center for Professional Development (SCPD) at the College of Business has been dedicated to bridging the gap between classroom education and career readiness. Focused on helping students develop the professional skills and personal attributes most valued by prospective employers, SCPD delivers a flexible range of programs and opportunities - beyond academics - proven to give students a competitive advantage as they prepare for today's demanding workforce.

SCPD offers transformational programs, including:

The Corporate Mentoring Program, pairing senior students with industry professionals for the guidance and support needed to ease the transition from college to a career.

The Community Scholars Program, providing COB students the opportunity to mentor high school students. Using their own experiences to show that college can be an affordable reality and is worth the effort; COB students develop leadership, teamwork, and persuasive skills.

The Junior Mentoring Program, paring junior students with recent graduates to help students prepare for their senior year by sharing their skills, knowledge, and advice to balance college, work and personal life.

The Business Professional Certificate Program, instructing COB students through a series of professional development workshops conducted by business leaders covering a wide variety of career related topics. Topics include: “Ace the Behavioral Based Interview” and “Ace the Behavioral Based Interview.”

Your philanthropic support can help us grow the number of students served, increase student access to valuable mentorship opportunities, and prepare the next generation of business leaders. Join us in celebrating 40 years of student success by making a meaningful contribution today.
