The Beach Investment Group, formerly the Student Managed Investment Fund, is celebrating 30 years of providing business students with a highly valued, hands-on experience in managing a portfolio with real assets.
For students who are interested in careers in finance, the BIG Program offers them a chance to practice portfolio management, asset allocation, economics, business strategy, and statistics. Students make investment decisions, engage in econometric modeling, economic sector research, and the study of corporate cultures, and performance histories. Leadership skills are developed, and group dynamics honed through working together to plan investment strategies and by presenting their results to clients.
