The Beach produces champions! Long Beach State track and field coach LaTanya Sheffield was named head women’s coach for Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics. She will work with Team USA’s sprinters and hurdlers. In true Long Beach State fashion, the university will also be represented in several Olympic Trials for the 2024 Paris Games, with two former LBSU greats, Jason Smith and Kemonie Briggs, who are among the top eight qualifiers for the long jump, and Hailey Fune, who has been accepted into the US Olympic Team Trials in the 100m hurdles. Good luck and Go Beach!
