Thank you for supporting the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music and helping us get to SOUSA 2024!
Music Celebrations International has extended an invitation to the BOB COLE CONSERVATORY WIND SYMPHONY to participate in the 2024 SOUSA BAND FESTIVAL in Washington, D.C. This exclusive music event will take place in the Concert Hall of Washington, D.C.’s JOHN F. KENNEDY CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS. As one of four bands from across the country, the Bob Cole Conservatory Wind Symphony will be featured in performance at this historic concert venue. All participating bands are selected by audition process through Music Celebrations.
The program will emphasize the life and influence of John Philip Sousa, “The March King,” on the American Band movement. Participating bands will have the opportunity to visit important Sousa sites in Washington, D.C., including Historic Congressional Cemetery, where he was laid to rest. In addition to the performance, we will have a private clinic with COLONEL DENNIS M. LAYENDECKER, DMA, COL. USAF (RET.), former commander and conductor of the United States Air Force Band.
Our students will have the distinction of performing in the internationally renowned John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, work with one of America’s foremost conductors and will build and strengthen the reputation of our ensemble in the nation’s capital. This will be an unparalleled enriching opportunity for our students that will offer memories that will last a lifetime.
