The Nohemi Gonzalez Fund to Support International Study has been established to honor the memory of Nohemi Gonzalez, the 23-year-old CSULB student who was among those killed during the Paris attacks on November 13, 2015. Nohemi, a senior, was studying design and attending the Strate School of Design in Paris during a semester-abroad program.
In addition to being a gifted and dedicated student, Nohemi also served the Department of Design and her fellow CSULB design students as a teaching assistant and shop technician. A “shining star” within the department, Nohemi is remembered for her warmth, humor, kindness, enthusiasm, creativity, drive, “unforgettable smile,” and “indescribably sweet spirit.” She had a profoundly positive impact on her department, university, and community.
The Beach family is heartbroken over the tragic loss of Nohemi Gonzalez and deeply grateful for the many expressions of comfort and support that have poured in to the university from across the country and around the globe. In keeping with her family's wishes, the Nohemi Gonzalez Fund to Support International Study will assist CSULB students with international travel and study-abroad opportunities.
