The University Library Contributions Fund allows the library to provide an engaging speaker series, zine building workshops, mobile makerspace pop ups, curated research collections and more!
As one of the largest employers of CSULB students, the University Library is proud to offer student employees the opportunity to gain valuable work experience and mentorship in various departments. Student assistants often share the joys of becoming a part of the library family, making new friendships, and the positive experience of serving the needs of fellow students. The University Library Contributions Fund helps eliminate the financial burden of higher education for these passionate student employees. The fund helps student employees pursue their academic goals by allowing them to focus more on their studies and less on finances.
The University Library Contributions Fund also goes to support students during the academic journey. We are able to extend our operating hours to accommodate late night studiers, and the Library is able to provide stress-relieving activities that foster a sense of belonging such as scavenger hunts, art contests, and refreshments thanks to the generous donations of our contributors.
The Distinguished Visiting DEIA Speaker Series brings celebrated authors, journalists, historians, academics, and artists to the Long Beach area. The series is part of the wide array of public programming that the University Library offers, fulfilling an important responsibility to serve the larger community.
